The PLEX-ID Analyzer uses multi-locus base composition analysis for microbial identification without the need for prior knowledge of what is present in the sample. Designed for walk-up use by laboratory personnel, the PLEX-ID Analyzer provides a single workflow that can be applied to analyze bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa direct from sample. Mixtures can also be analyzed and results generated in hours versus days.
The PLEX-ID Analyzer is capable of running multiple human identification assays, such as mitochondria DNA (mtDNA), STR, Y-STR, and SNP analyses on the same instrument within a single fully automated and seamless run, utilizing exactly the same reagents, data processing, and analysis software. These assays can increase the discriminatory power of DNA, because for nuclear assays it provides SNP information and the mtDNA assay interrogates a larger area than the conventional HVI and HVII regions. The mtDNA assay is not hindered by length heteroplasmy and is capable of resolving mixtures of mtDNA from two contributors.
Launch of PLEX-ID Mycoplasma Detection Assay
The PLEX-ID Mycoplasma Detection assay is a non-diagnostic assay designed to detect and identify more than 80 different strains of the mycoplasma as well as thousands of other bacterial adventitious agents. It can be used as a powerful tool to precisely identify root cause of biological drug contamination during manufacturing process, in less than 8 hours for a low price per sample. Read More
